In other poetic news, Mike Pope has issued an interesting challenge called Versus Interruptus: using an established form, write an original poem that stops just short. His example:
There once was a limerick (so called)
That started but then it got stalled
Five lines? What a chore
This one had four
So far, he hasn't had any takers. Give a guy a hand, won't you? Or a (metrical) foot? (I've been contemplating a 13-line sonnet myself, but haven't gotten very far.)
