Dark roast coffee is in general less caffeine-rich than other coffee, even though it has a stronger taste. At least, I read that somewhere. As personal supporting evidence, I find that the (smallish) amount of hot water I typically use for a given quantity of ground dark roast coffee beans doesn't work out so well for lighter roasts--it leads to a strong unpleasant taste. So it's possible that if I switched to Death Wish I would end up diluting it by using more water and getting no more caffeine per fluid ounce than I get now with, say, Starbucks French Roast.

And don't forget Deadman's Reach: http://www.deadmansreach.com/index.html
