Wow, yeah, what a weird bunch of advice. A lot of that would be utterly counter-productive.

I recently talked to a non-profit that has had a virtual committee meet multiple times, over more than a year, to work on a very difficult naming problem they have, and they're basically at each other's throats, and the official minutes of the last meeting notes that they're "frustrated and annoyed" over the situation.

I always say, "Kids, don't try this at home."

And I'll bet that for half of the money that Carsonified guy paid the domain squatter, I could have created a name for him that didn't sound like a sub-line of QuickBooks.
