It has come to my attention that this blog has been nominated in the "Top 100 Language Blogs of 2009" contest. Although my competitors are staggeringly worthy—they include The Name Inspector, Literal Minded, Word Routes, Separated by a Common Language, Wordlustitude, and the redoubtable Language Log—I refuse to be out-languaged by any of them.
And so I say unto you: Vote for Fritinancy, dammit.
My campaign promise: I won't quit in the middle of my term.
By the way, I'm aiming for a two-peat.
Update: Just figured out how to add this button! Vote now!
If you used Facebook, you might've beaten Ben Zimmer (Word Routes) to the punch, but he already shamelessly self-promoted and sought votes over there. Sorry!
Cable TV listings show that it's official now: the SyFy channel. My husband (not a regular Fritinancy reader like me) hadn't heard about the change before. Says he's gonna call it the Syphilis channel from now on.

@Amy: Ben also courted votes on Twitter, as did I. All part of the game! And there will be 100 "winners," so there's room for both of us--and I'd be more than honored to share the glory with the likes of Word Routes.
