Yep, it was three years ago today—June 8, 2006—that I published the first post on this blog, which was then called Away With Words.
Later that day I published the first real post (the first one was just an introduction). It was titled "Name That Cage," and you can read it here. (It looks like that cage ended up being named Au16-. Meh.)
The post in which I announced the name change to Fritinancy.
And in case you were wondering: Yes, there will be a third annual Simpsons Brand-o-Rama within a couple of weeks. The list of fictional Simpsons brands just keeps embiggening.
Happy anniversary - er, bloggiversary! Though I haven't been a reader for long, this is one of my most important stops now. Enjoy your fourth year!

Thank you for three years of witty observation and commentary. I'm delighted to say that I've been reading your blog for almost the entire time, and I am definitely looking forward to many more years of your blog (and Tweets, too).

Congratulations. I am a newer reader and I absolutely love your blog. I have been blogging for a little over a year myself and I think I am going through a blogging burnout. How do you do it? Any words of wisdom to inspire me to make it to my 2nd bloggiversary?

@Wordacious: Thanks for visiting and for leaving such a nice comment! I confess that burnout hasn't been a problem for me; my bumper sticker would read "I'd Rather Be Blogging." But if you've made it to your first anniversary you've already beaten the odds, so take heart! Some suggestions: 1. If you're not already on Twitter, set up an account and use Twitter to bring new readers to your blog (and to harvest ideas; see my "Bummer" post, which originated in Neil's tweet). 2. Always have a list of five or six posts-in-progress and another list of ideas. 3. Use Delicious to tag interesting websites and blog posts for future use. 4. Regard blogging as essential writerly hygiene, the equivalent of daily exercise or teeth-brushing.

Thank you For your wonderful advice Nancy (much of which I do already follow). I do not plan on giving up anytime soon and I do enjoy blogging greatly. So keep on reading (to those of you who read my blog).
