I wrote last December about Google's ill-advised choice of Knol as the name for its Wikipedia-challenger. Now Voltage Creative gets into the game and makes it interesting:
[I]f anyone can come up with a worse brand name than Knol, post it in the comments. Next week I’ll pick out the worst one and Paypal you $50.
Ninety-one responses the last time I counted, and they're worth reading in their entirety. My favorite so far, at #85:
Pneumnem
Pronounced new-nem. Like the “pneu” from pneumatic and “mnem” from mnemonics.
So logical, and so wrong. Gotta love it.
(Love the "Rural Juror" photo that accompanies the Voltage post. That's from 30 Rock, in case your TiVo failed you.)

Those of us in our 50s may remember a rock group in the 70s that had a top 40 hit.
Their name? "Stanky Brown"
Now why would anyone.....?
