I had intended to stop nattering on about baby names, at least in this blog, but the long-running comic strip Cathy has been having some fun with the topic all week, and I couldn't resist. Here's today's strip:

And as long as I'm on the subject, here's Nancy's Baby Names (Nancy R. Callahan) explaining those odd-seeming South American names that have been in the news lately. It turns out that many of them are phonetic interpretations of North American phrases and cultural artifacts: Gualdisnia (from the looks of it, a girl's name) is "Walt Disney," Yesaidu is "Yes I do," and so on.
