Answers.com is sponsoring its first annual creative writing contest. The good news: there are actual prizes ($100 and $50 gift certificates from Amazon.com), not cents-off coupons or pats on the back. The challenge: use all ten words or phrases from a list supplied by Answers.com. (A few of the words: melissophobia, yo-yo, ubiquitous, Belize, and--groan--"for all intents and purposes.") The rules: keep it clean, keep it under 750 words, create a hyperlink for each of the words from the list, post your submission on your blog or website. The deadline: July 31.
It's hard to think of a submission that could top Michael Sheehan's, which is posted on his blog, Wordmall. Not only does he use every word correctly, but his entry is in verse!
