Someone--or more likely some obsession-driven cabal--with a whole lot of free time has compiled this list of fictional companies cited in books, movies, and television shows. They're helpfully organized by industry. Under "Financial," I especially like Rive Droit Bank ("The Right Bank for You"), from the very funny 1990s TV series The Tick, starring Patrick Warburton.
Ah! The Tick! Of all the failed series of the past many years that I fell in love with, only to watch them vanish before a full season was even broadcast (Threshold, Action, Freedom, Drive - Hmm, all one-word titles!), I may miss The Tick the most. It was the ultimate parody of superhero-dom. Another naming note - in the great tradition of Metropolis, Smallville, and Gotham City, the city he works in is called...The City!
Also, not noted on the fictional companies page, was the great naming story about Cyrex, Cyrix, and Cyrez from The Governor's underrated actioner "Eraser". They tell the story in the first graf of this article about digital retouching of Hollywood movies:
