Robert Lane Greene, the New York correspondent for The Economist’s language blog, Johnson, has written a brief, very funny post about Shpoonkle and has generously linked to my own post about this oddly named legal-services business.
“It’s one thing to come up with a name that violates English orthographic rules,” writes Greene. “…It’s another thing to violate English’s rules of pronunciation.” Be sure to read the comments, too.
